I have 1000's of books (mostly vintage) that I will be posting on eBay in the coming months and coming years. I am constantly adding to my inventory.
Most eBay book re-sellers just use stock photos from eBay's database and they write much generalized descriptions. I do not like to do this because I am a book collector myself & I would never buy a book listed thusly.
I photograph each & every book (whether selling them singularly or in a lot) from
ALL
angles (front, back, spine & page edges) and I individually describe each book. This takes more time to post each listing on eBay; but I feel that it is more honest.
Book conditions adapted from eBay's

Broken Spine:
Broken spines are caused by improper handling or shelving and creates a break or split in the binding a certain pages. It can also be caused by the deterioration of the glue used in the spine’s binding. Glue deterioration is especially common in books from the 1950’s and before. A broken spine can cause the spine’s cover edge to be creased, the book to open or stop at a certain page or pages to become loose and fall out.
Bumping:
Bumping refers to a cover that has been impacted or hit and has left an indention or a small dent.
Chipping:

Foxing:
Foxing is the age-related browning or brown-yellowish spots that occur to book paper over time.
Reader-wear:
Reader-wear is the minimal damage that occurs when books are gently open and read. Small imperfections caused by a collector who reads his books, but does so with extreme care.
