Stunning High Relief Gold picture frame, Cherubs, Flowers, Roses, Vines, Great Detail!. Condition is "Used".
I am uncertain what metal is used to make the frame but the weight is substantial, over 3 pounds and 4 ozs! On the reverse side I can see silver metal under the gold, so believe it maybe shelter, but the detail on the front is absolutely amazing, PLEASE ENLARGE THE PICTURES TO SEE THEM AS LARGE AS POSSIBLE, consider the pictures as part of the description, and if you love French, German, Italian cherubs and angels, beautiful roses and vine like plants on a beautifully stippled background, this frame might be the one for you! I have stated the date as 1910, that is really not 100% accuracy but I have previously had a French gilt metal frame that was dated 1903 , with the exact same style stand and slide in back cover, it may be earlier or later, I am not really sure. The piece came from a lady friend,  a local retired antique dealer/ collector who has downsized, it was certainly one of my favorite finds last weekend, I hope it finds a home where it will be just as much loved as it was by her, sadly, as is often the case, she had no knowledge of where she got it, but it had been in her last house for at least 20 years…
