    Description

My Shirley is an interesting girl. She is unmarked and believed to be made by Mollye, who (I was told) often made dolls and clothing for well known manufacturers. Because of that, I paid 0 for her many years ago.
I have owned a marked, in original box, Ideal compo Shirley but I have passionately loved this Shirley because - to me-  she really embodies the spirit and beauty of the darling child actress.
Her torso is stuffed; arms, legs, head, and breast plate are composition. She has some crazing. On the head, at the outer corners of each eye, there are minor craze lines. Her right arm has a few craze lines. The breast plate (right side of neck) has a problem spot with lifting. I recently redid her legs... the paint was peeling badly. I think i did a fair job matching the paint color, but there is some pitting. I even used an electric hand sander. Still, it's far better than it was.
She has rootbeer colored tin eyes. Dress, and undergarments are replacements, as the dress she had when I bought her was brand new and looked out of place. Her pin and shoes are original Shirley Temple. I paid just for the pin, as you can see. The celery green dress is old and she loves it.
Wig is a replacement, as the previous one made her look bald it was so damaged. I'm pretty sure it's human hair and I styled it.
I was close friends with an older woman who had an antique/ doll shop many years ago. When she closed it, she gave me a box of old clothes and wigs.I also took a doll doctor course she told me about. The results are what you see. I'm sure there are others better than me, but Shirley looks 100% better than she did when I bought her.
My mom passed away and I took many of her things, so I have to downsize. My family ooh's and ah's at my dolls, but if anything happened to me they wouldn't take them. I want a "doll person" to treasure my darling Shirley, as it pains me to get rid of her in the first place.
Stand will be included. Thanks for looking!
