The camera BRAIN is the primary building block of the RED system, housing the image sensor and advanced computing components. A DSMC2 BRAIN is capable of data write speeds of 300 MB/s, can simultaneously record in REDCODE RAW and Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR/HD and is offered with DRAGON-X 5K S35 sensor - delivering incredible dynamic range. DRAGON-X features the industry workhorse and award-winning DRAGON sensor, now with IPP2, delivering 6K cinematic imagery in a Super 35 format.
With features like cable-free peripherals, integrated media bay, wireless control, DSMC2 is the most powerful and intuitive camera to date. It is also compatible with a growing arsenal of modules and accessories-from RED and other Third-Party manufacturers. Truly a revolutionary product, the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 DC HSM is the first wide-angle to standard zoom lens to achieve a large aperture of 1.8. Designed specifically for APS-C sized sensors, the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 translates to 27mm-52.5mm on 35mm camera. Tapping into Sigma's long history of lens innovations, the 18-35mm 1.8 DC HSM incorporates a wide glass molded aspherical lens with Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass to compensate for aberrations and curvature at the widest angle.
Internal focusing and zooming allows for more usability and functionality. - DSMC S35 Canon Mount -
The DSMC S35 Canon Mount offers support for a wide variety of Canon EF and EF-S compatible lenses to use with your DSMC or DSMC2 BRAIN. Available in lightweight machined aluminum-the DSMC Canon Mount offers modularity and convenience and supports autofocus and electronic iris control with compatible lenses. The mount attaches easily to the front of your camera BRAIN and uses a dual-ring lock system to secure Canon EF and EF-S lenses. The aluminum model feature captive mounting screws, so you'll never have to worry about searching for hardware.

The DSMC2 V-Lock I/O Expander offers a variety of Input/Output connections, as well as an industry standard V-Lock mount to power your DSMC2 camera using RED BRICK batteries. Constructed from lightweight and durable magnesium, this expander module mounts directly to the rear of the camera BRAIN and offers connections for the following:
• DC Power input (DC-IN)
• HDMI 1.2 output (Type A socket)
• 3G-SDI output (HD-SDI, 75 O BNC)
• CTRL & SYNC ports (2x 00B LEMO 4-Pin, Timecode and Genlock support)

The DSMC2 V-Lock I/O Expander also features a selector switch that enables the BRAIN to automatically boot when power is provided via the DC-IN connector on the expander. This feature allows you to use a connected DC input supply to turn the BRAIN on and off when the camera is mounted in remote or difficult to maneuver locations. This expander is an ideal solution for a wide variety of production environments-from low-profile run-and-gun situations to studio shoots that require mobility.

The DSMC2 RED Touch 4.7" LCD offers a high definition-720p interactive viewing experience in the smallest and most compact form factor available for your DSMC2 camera system. The 4.7" LCD features a lay flat hinge design with a tilt range of approximately 240deg. (90deg. forward and 150deg. backward) for space savings or optimizing your configuration. Use the cable-free DSMC2 RED Touch 4.7" LCD as your primary display by mounting it to the top of your BRAIN with 1/4-20 mounting points-or mount it to the secondary (side) EVF/LCD port for a low profile secondary display.
The built-in 180deg. image rotation feature (mirror and flip) provides additional display mounting options by allowing monitor footage to be displayed upside down.
