Description
Rare early 1930’s Miss Charming by Eegee 21” All-composition doll with socket head, brown sleep eyes, real lashes, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, open mouth, 6 teeth, blonde mohair wig arranged in ringlet style, five piece composition body. The doll is in good condition but comes with issues. Her hair will need re-done. Her arms are in good condition, her legs have some vertical cracking and some chipping can be seen on the back of her left leg. Looks like there was some work done under her lower lip which needs a bit of attention as it’s not perfectly smooth.
She wearing what appears to be an original outfit consisting of a following pieces: White dress with red flowers which has some tattering around the collar and some browning especially on the upper portion, plain white undergarment which is also tattered and browned, socks, shoes, white rabbit fur coat with satin lining and matching hand warmer. Both the coat and the warmer show browning, more so on the coat.
She is missing her celluloid pin but is marked on the back of her head with E.G. which is the early mark used by the Goldbergers in 1936 or ‘37.
The doll was clearly intended to appeal to Shirley Temple market and has a remarkable resemblance in both face, wig and costume except for the brown eyes of course.
