Large Antique Folk Art Model Ship Diorama For Restoration, Victorian, 26"x18"x9"

Up for auction is a little bit of a project. This is a circa late 1800s hand-made, folk art ship diorama. As you can see it needs a little fixing. I had intended on doing so myself, but have to many other projects and this one is taking up to much room in my office. A piece like this is definitely worth the effort, but I simply don't have the time. This is the condition it was in when I got it. As far as I can tell, something went through the glass on one side and broke off the tops of the masts. The all seem to be either broken off of just unattached at the points where they meet other sections so they should be able to be glued back in place fairly invisibly. That is of course if you can figure out where each piece goes. With the strings all tangled up the way they are it looks intimidating but I think if the strings are removed it will hopefully make more sense. It is on the larger side, measuring about 26.25" x 18.75" x 9.5". It is being sold as is, for restoration. As noted the glass is missing on one side. I will pack it as securely as possible and the package will be insured, but I am not guaranteeing that the other piece of glass will survive the journey.  If the glass does get broken, it will be insured up to 0 so you can always file a claim for the cost of the replacement.
Again, it will be packed securely but I just don't have much faith in shipping carriers when it comes to something like this. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer.
