Handmade Oak Picture Frame 5x7

Description

This is a handmade 5x7 Oak picture frame. It comes to you from the birthplace of rivers (Pocahontas County West Virginia).
Jim Vanreenan (the maker), a United States Army veteran, who learned this trait from his Uncle who was also an Army veteran, has been making these frames for over 30 years.
He starts by hand selecting each piece of wood for each frame. The wood is locally grown, and is repurposed. After making his selection(s), he takes the wood home to his woodworking shop to begin the process.
He will cut each piece precisely after fine tuned measurements. Placing it on his saw, then using hand tools to make the fine lines and grooves. He will cut the end caps, and place a peg in each end so the frame is snug and taunt. After that, he will sand, wax and polish each side by hand until he is satisfied with the results.
From selection to end results, the process usually takes 3-5 hours per frame (depending on size, shape, and type of wood used). Each frame is uniquely different, and can be tailored for each individual.
