Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry.
Volume 1 of The Glass Candlestick Book is the first of what will be the most complete reference work ever done on the subject. Covering candlesticks made by 33 different American companies, alphabetically from the Akro Agate Company to the Fenton Art Glass Company, the book features more than 620 candlesticks. More than 500 color photographs and over 220 reprints from old trade journals and advertisements light up the book.
Each chapter includes a history of the factory and information about production colors and trademarks used. Every candlestick is described with dimensions, production dates, known colors, information on reissues and reproductions, the current location of the mold, as well as current values. This volume will be of particular interest to collectors of Cambridge, Duncan, and Fenton.
Information and representative pieces from lesser known companies, including Beaumont, Bryce Brothers, Central Glass Works, Atterbury & Company, Dell Glass, Erickson Glass Works, Colony Glassware, are also here. A well-illustrated appendix on identifying dolphin candlesticks, a glossary, and an extensive bibliography round out the book.
A unique feature is an illustrated index which includes thumbnail photographs of all of the candlesticks in this book. Other books on the subject don't hold a candle to this one!
    PUBLISHER'S REVIEW
This is the first volume in a three-volume series, covering Akro Agate through Fenton Art Glass companies. These books are undoubtedly the most comprehensive on the market. More than 500 color photos and over 220 reprints from old trade journals and advertisements light up the book.
