DENVER’S WHITE POTTERY – FREDERICK AND FRANCIS WHITE – A LEGACY IN CLAYby Thomas Turquist, The Homestead Press, OK, 1980.
The most complete reference available on the subject, this early out-of-print book provides a scholarly survey of early 20th century art pottery produced in Denver, Colorado. Illustrated in black-and-white, this book provides a biography of the two brothers Frederick and Francis White who were the founders of the (Denver) White Pottery Company. In 1909 the firm changed their name to Denver Art Pottery – to better reflect their shift of emphasis to art pottery. This book reviews the various periods of production, the types of ware produced, and the marks incorporated in the identification of their pottery.
5.5” x 8.5” softback in very good condition (cover is sun bleached). 60 pages.
