    Description

Here is a great antique Americana Federal wide molding pine picture frame. The entire frame measures 15 x 18 ins., and the back insert rabbet fit size is about 10 1/8 x 14 1/8 ins. The frame is The molding is wide at 2 3/4 ins. This has its original N. Currier engraving titled
    Sarah Ann
. It is dated 1846 and has other wordage around the bottom of the print. Please enlarge the pictures and one is a close up of that. The frame itself is in good as is vintage condition with some wear, minor scrapes, minor chips, but is still sturdy. It is missing its old wood backing, and it looks like someone added a piece of white paper board to hold in the print. The engraved print itself is in POOR as is condition with lots of foxing. I left it in to show the age of the frame. If you do not want the print or glass( glass does not look old but not positive), then I can remove them and ship without either.
The frame looks to possibly have an original light brown paint or it is a stain that  has that slight appearance over the centuries.
I would date this frame to the prints age, as it appears to be original and I have sold many of this style before. So about 170 years old. This one is more unusual with the wider border molding  and it is pine and not walnut.
I bought this in Charleston from a antique dealer who got it in historic Charleston, South Carolina.
    Perfect for Federal,Americana,Folk Art,Antique samplers,Currier & Ives and N. Currier original print collectors,and mid-1800s decors.
