1940's Western Airlines 5 Years of Service Pin Converted to Charm
    Product Description
    ARTIFACT:
This is a circa late 1940's lapel wing for five years of service with Western Airlines that has been converted into a charm, probably for a bracelet by one of the company’s stewardesses. Western began in 1926 as Western Air Express and merged with Transcontinental to become TWA in 1930. At this time, a portion of the company called Western Air Transport broke away, eventually becoming General Airlines and later WAL (then simply Western Airlines). The charm is petite wing with the profile of a Native American man wearing a headdress at its center.
